GameCube Advanced obtained some relaible information on the release date for Nintendo next generation gaming console – Nintendo Revolution from an earnings announcement by Monolithic Systems Technology Inc (or MoSys).
Mark Voll, Interim CEO and Chief Financial Officer of MoSys said during the announcement, "NEC Electronics will now use our 1T-SRAM embedded memory technologies on their advanced 90nm process, and that the initial designs to be incorporated in SoCs will be used in Nintendo’s next-generation game console, code-named Revolution. We are excited to be a participating member of the Nintendo team once again as Nintendo will roll out its successor game console to the GameCube in mid-2006."
In summary, here are the estimated release dates for the next generation gaming consoles from the various companies:
- Microsoft Xbox360 – October/November 2005
- Nintendo Revolution – Mid-2006
- Sony PlayStation 3 – Late 2006
